The Reality of Concussion

Brain injury survivor, Sarah Barron, joins The Brain Discovery Series team to tell her story on how suffering multiple concussions led to her equestrian career ending– her beloved sport for over 20 years.

Part 1 of The Reality of Concussion, where Dr. Nedd and Sarah focus on Sarah’s tough choice of quitting her favorite sport and her concussion signs and symptoms.

Sarah recounts her experience dealing with the life-changing effects of her concussion, most of which are all too familiar to concussion and traumatic brain injury survivors.

  • Vertigo

  • Anxiety

  • Difficulty with Memory

  • Trouble with Attention

  • Headaches – Migraines, Trigeminal, Occipital, Tension

  • Sleep & Body-Cycle Issues

Sarah’s tough choice of quitting her favorite sport did not come easy to her. Thankfully however, she knew that the risk of suffering any more trauma to her head, was far too significant to bare.

Through the novel treatment methods, including therapy, medications, lots of listening, the BHET method, and nerve blocks, Sarah was able to achieve balance in her life once again.

Part 2 of The Reality of Concussion, where Dr. Nedd and Sarah explain the treatment approach utilized to get Sarah back to a state of normalcy.
